China crushes drug gangs, seizing 6.27 tons of drugs since August

From Xinhuanet: “Chinese police have cracked down on 1,045 drug gangs, arresting 10,537 suspects and seized 6.27 tons of illegal drugs since Aug. 1, the government said Wednesday.

Drug-related funds of 77.85 million yuan (9.38 million US dollars) were also seized in the four-month anti-drug campaign, said Chen Yicun, deputy-director of anti-drug department under theMinistry of Public Security. ”
