Despite concern that the fast growth of China could cast an economic pall across the rest of Asia, regional leaders appear to be emphasizing the positive impact that an emergent investment and consumer powerhouse could have on their countries.

Malaysia, for example, finds an economic windfall from Chinese tourists. And Pakistan, linked to China along the ancient Silk Route, sees opportunity in attracting Chinese entrepreneurs who aim to develop an export window on the region.
