G7 warns on oil, welcomes China forex move – Andrea Hopkins and Tim Ahmann

Finance chiefs from the Group of Seven economic powers warned on Friday that oil prices were a growing threat to healthy world economic growth, calling for more crude output, energy conservation and investment. Agreeing to meet again in Britain in December, the ministers and central bankers from the United States, Italy, Canada, Japan, France, Germany and Britain also welcomed recent steps by China to loosen its rigid currency regime.
