400 migrant workers strike for 4 million RMB in backpay – Brian Ho

From CSR Asia (link):

In spite of the government’s effort in helping migrant workers in the construction industry to obtain backpay, it is still a problem in China. According to the Chinese-language Takungpao in Hong Kong, 400 migrant workers have conducted a two-day sit-in in a Guangzhou building. The workers claim the contractor – the Yutong Construction Group, owes them 4 million RMB backpay. The workers staged their sit-in in the lobby of the Yutong Group’s HQ (the Yutong Building – Ë£ïÈÄö§ßÂé¶) for two days. The current status of the sit-in is unknown because of a mainland press blackout.
