China to quicken censoring of TV animation production – Xinhua

From Xinhua, via People’s Daily Online:

The Chinese government is to facilitate domestic animation makers by accelerating its censoring, Xinhua was informed Friday of a regulation issued by the censors recently.

As of this August, a maker will know monthly whether it is authorized to produce a particular by putting on a record to the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) within the first five days of a month, the regulation prescribed.

Currently, the Chinese regulators approve TV animation production twice a year – in January and July. [Full Text]
