China’s Internet users reach 123m – Winny Wang

From Shanghai Daily:

China’s Internet users reached 123 million by June 30, 2006, growing 19.4 percent from the same period last year, the China Internet Network Information Center reported today.

Broadband subscribers accounted for two-thirds of the Internet users, totaling to 77 million, up 45.3 percent, the report said.

The country’s Websites amounted to 788,400, growing 90,000 in the first half of this year. [Full Text]
