On Aug. 4, the Wanzhou district government office building in Chongqing City was auctioned for 32.6 million yuan. The buyer, one of the two bidders, of the landmark 25-story is Three Gorges Hydropower Group.
The auction was the third of the Wanzhou government’s attempt to sell its office building. The earlier attempts, late last year and this July, listed the price as 70 million and 40 million respectively in auctions.
It is reported that some of government agencies have already moved by April, with others to do so too to the other side of the Yangtze River, in order to promote the development a new zone.
