Venture Capital Flowing to China Doubled in Three-Month Period – Sai Man

Venture-capital investment in China doubled to US$480 million in the three months ended June from US$239 million in the year-earlier period, a new report said Thursday.

The dollar value of total deals for the quarter was the highest in 2¬Ω years, and the number of transactions, 54, was the highest on record for any quarter, according to the inaugural China Quarterly Report by Dow Jones VentureOne and accountancy firm Ernst & Young LLP.

“The report underlines how China’s venture-capital market has continued to mature and attract interest from overseas investors,” said Jamie Paton, managing director and co-head Asia of U.K.-based private equity firm 3i Group PLC and chairman of the Hong Kong Venture Capital Association.[Full Text and Subscrobers Only]
