CPC Central Committee Meeting to Release Chen Liangyu’s Sentence

The 6th Plenary Session of 16th CPC Central Committee Conference will be held on Oct 8 in Beijing. The conference will release the investigation report on Chen Liangyu, former CPC Shanghai chief who was sacked for economic scandals, said Taiwan newspaper United Daily (ËÅîÂêàÊä•). The meeting will also decide Chen’s sentence.

The meeting will determine the next generation of CPC leaders. Provincial CPC leaders will be reshuffled after the conference, and the new leaders will be possibly included in the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau.

This is the first reshuffle of provincial party leaders after Hu Jintao took power.
