‘Super Boy’ May Hit TV Screens Next Year – Shanghai Daily

Chinese TV viewers may see an all-boy singing contest next year since this year’s “Super Girl” pulled in nearly 100 million yuan (US$12.66 million) in profit, Shanghai Morning Post said.

“Super Boy,” if approved, would be conducted at the same period as its ally “Super Girl,” from next May to September, Wang Ping, general director of “Super Girl,” told the newspaper.

This year’s event faced competition from similar reality programs, including “My Hero” and “My Style, My Show” by Shanghai Oriental TV. “Super Girl” captured 2.7 percent of the viewing audience in 14 mainland cities, about half of last year’s total. [Full Text]
