IBM Linked to China Court Case – Richard McGregor

IBM, the computer services company, has reportedly been named in court documents in China that have emerged from the corruption trial of a senior Chinese banker.

Zhang Enzhao, former chairman of China Construction Bank, one of the country’s “big five” lenders, was jailed for 15 years last week after being convicted of taking bribes in return for granting information technology contracts.

The written judgment from the Beijing No 1 Intermediate Court named IBM as having paid $225,000 to a sales agent who helped bribe Mr Zhang, according to a report by Bloomberg.[Full Text]
