China Reporting Rules ‘May Stay’ – BBC

China’s pledge to relax rules for foreign reporters covering the 2008 Olympics may extend beyond the games, a top media official has hinted.

Cai Wu said he saw no need to change the policy back if the new regulations proved “beneficial”. His comments come a week before the new rules – announced at the start of December – are due to come into force.

China says they will allow foreign journalists greater freedom to travel around the vast nation.[Full Text]
