The son-in-law of Taiwan’s embattled President Chen Shui-bian has been sentenced to six years in jail for insider trading.
Chao Chien-min was found guilty of using inside information to profit from buying shares in a property company. Chao, who is married to President Chen’s daughter, is expected to appeal.
The high-profile case is the latest setback for the president, whose wife is also on trial for embezzlement and forgery in a separate proceeding.[Full Text]
