China in a Torrent - NHK
Japanese broadcaster NHK has produced a documentary called China in a Torrent (激流中国), which is being discussed and recommended in the Chinese blogosphere. From the NHK website:
China, of course, is a focus of global attention as host of the next Olympic Games, and this new series is NHK’s major documentary of the 2007 broadcasting year. China in a Torrent is being produced in 13 instalments. Two of them have already been aired, describing the problems of China’s wealth disparities and its media industry. [Full text]

I hope the people filming the abundance of the rich and the misery of the poor do not just leave it at that, but do something about the poor people in the video. I think we now have the responsibility to at least help pay for the operations needed to restore the little boy’s baddly broken arm. Being poor he is already so unfortunate in life, he will need his both arms to survive. If you can not confirm me about help for this poor family, please give me some information (name and address) of these people so I can try to help them myself. Thanks.
