The rising water level of the Huaihe River forced another 67,000 people in east China’s Anhui Province from their homes on Thursday, the local flood control authority said.
By 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, the water level of the section of the river at Linhuaiguan, a township in Fengyang County near the middle reaches of the Huaihe, had risen to 20.35 meters, exceeding the safety limit of 19.90 meters, the county flood control headquarters said.
