Three weeks of crippling snow storms across China have inflicted US$7.5 billion in damages, the government said Friday, as it announced a US$700 million relief fund for farmers.

Millions of Chinese shivered through power cuts and water shortages and millions more were stranded by snow ahead of what for some is the only holiday of the year.
