Blue-green Algae Appears in Taihu Lake Again

Xinhua reports on the new hit of blue-green algae at Tai Lake:

The words “SOS Taihu Lake”, written using blue-green algae, are seen on the bank of the lake in this recent photo taken in Yixing, East China’s Jiangsu Province. Outbreaks of blue-green algae, which sparked last year’s water shortage crisis in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, may hit Taihu Lake again this summer, say some scientists and top environmental officials.
