In the last few days, all the search engines return an illegal search when searching for Carrefour or 家乐福 They just lifted the ban today. Furthermore, why do those "patriots" even buy from a French supermarket anyway? Why didn't they buy from a Chinese owned market? Is it possible that they don't trust their fellow Chinese supermarket owners? Maybe they just want to make sure they are not buying fake baby formulae, fake bean thread, fake Colgate toothpaste, fake vitamins, etc.

The China government is behind the boycott. Gone are the day when single man can decide the policy of CCP.There are more middle class now than back then. better educated middle class are the bulwark against wanton act of the state. There are no more senile politician that stay too long in the politic instead of retiring . The leadership now have terms and Age limitation.Plus now 210 million got access to Internet and information and can easily bypass firewall and other filtering systemI can understand the reason why someone that never been outside China find everything wrong in China and everything worked right outside ChinaBut fortunately the young people of China now wake up and found that they should not blindly trust the information from western country instead they should make their own judgement

This is another one of those idealistic Chinese that never see anything good in China because of their personal trauma and experience Well to say that boycoting will bring the cultural revolution back is stretching the truth a bit too far.

To begin China in 2008 is not the same as China in 1970.
