Another Foxconn Worker Falls to her Death in China

A worker at a Kunshan Foxconn plant has died. The death has not yet been ruled as a suicide. From Agence-France Presse:

A female worker at Taiwanese technology giant Foxconn died in eastern China after falling from a dormitory building, the company said Friday.

The 22-year-old woman, who died late Wednesday, was an employee at a packaging department in Foxconn’s Kunshan plant in eastern Jiangsu province, it said.

The company said it is working with local authorities to investigate the incident.

Caixin reports on Foxconn factories’ move inland:

Foxconn, the world’s largest electronics contract manufacturer, is reallocating its iPhone production facilities to Henan Province, as part of plans to restructure the company’s production facilities.

According to China Business News, Foxconn will move its entire iPhone production facilities to Zhengzhou, central China’s Henan Province, while leaving the current production base in Shenzhen for research and development.

At the same time, Foxconn will also move its iPad production facilities to Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, while allocating its PC production capacities to Wuhan, Hubei Province.
