Britain used railroads to maintain its colony of India until 1947. China is doing the same thing in Tibet. It’s called colonialism, pure & simple. The CCP plans to spend US$2 billion the rail extension b/t Lhasa & Shigatse. Meanwhile Tibetans have the lowest income & education in all of the PRC. We can see the CCP’s priorities are in exploiting Tibet’s natural resources & maintaining control over Tibet, not in improving the lives of the Tibetan people.
