The inconvenient truth is that the Shaw piece is weak, short on facts, long on innuendo, and contains internal contradictions and inaccuracies. And he doesn't follow current events in Japan very closely.

Shaw is unpersuasive. The documents cited show China's acknowledgement of Japanese ownership instead. Kristof is clear as mud on this as well. He needs to sharpen his journalism and not use his blog to play the fence.

A genuine Inconvenient Truth which is much more recent, timely and involves genocide in a populated country?

CHINA, get the hell OUT of TIBET! Stop murdering those poor people and stealing their land and its minerals and waterways! Get your damn language OUT of TIBET and let them speak their own. Leave them alone so they can practice their BEAUTIFUL, INTELLIGENT RELIGION and be rid of you and your disgusting theiving and murdering Communism. May China be forced to pay reparations to Tibet for each and every crime the Chinese have committed there!

China, may your karma catch up to you very quickly.
