Beijing Olympics Pigs: Secret Breeding and Special Supplies – ChineseNewsNet
From the DWNEWS.COM, translated by CDT:

Pork supply is an important event for the Beijing Olympics. It’s said the pork supplier for the Beijing Olympics has set up 10 pig breeding centers located in different parts of China. However, the locations of the Olympic pig breeding centers are secret. Pigs there are monitored, only fed organic crops, and have to exercise everyday.Liu Yanyun, is the CEO of Beijing Qianxihe Group, which is the only supplier of frozen, fresh pork and pork products for the Beijing Olympics. He said that the locations of the pig breeding centers are not allowed to be leaked. The pig breeding centers are chosen to be far from cities, industry and transportation arteries. He also said there are 24-hour video monitors in the pig breeding centers to watch out for any strangers or unfamiliar pigs. According to the standard of the International Olympic Committee, there should be no other pigs allowed into the breeding centers. Liu said the quantity of pork supply is prepared to be five times the need. In case pig disease might break out in one center, other centers can ensure the supply.
Liu also said the pigs’ feed has no preservatives. The immunization methods for the pigs include using natural herbs and Chinese medicine. To ensure the health of the pigs, they are arranged to exercise for two hours per day. Because no antibiotics are used for pig breeding, the growing period for these Olympics pigs are two to three months longer than common pigs. However, the Olympics pigs will not be sold cheap. Liu said the pork will be 40% to 50% more expensive than the market price. [Original Chinese Report]
