Update, March 17, 2008: The deadline for Tibetan protesters to surrender to Chinese police has passed, reports the BBC. The Times (London) is reporting that the Chinese army paraded dozens of handcuffed prisoners, their heads bowed, through the streets of Lhasa on Monday as the midnight deadline for surrender approached. The troops also stepped up their hunt for rioters in house-to-house searches.
