红派壹号 (hóng pài yī hào): red pad

This is the Communist Party’s answer to the iPad. Costing approximately twice as much as the iPad, and including applications designed to keep the user up-to-date with the latest Party directives, the Red Pad was introduced in January 2012. Shortly after its announcement, advertisements and media reports of the Red Pad were pulled when it was vigorously mocked by netizens. For more information, see here and here.
