Danone Files Suit Against Companies Linked to its Chinese Partner – Jason Scott and Ladka Bauerova

Groupe Danone has filed a U.S. lawsuit against businesses linked to Zong Qinghou, the company’s Chinese joint venture partner, accusing them of illicit sales of fruit juice and mineral water.

Danone has faced other setbacks in China this year. Last week, customs officials in Shanghai seized about 118 tons of Evian for health violations. Danone said bacteria found in Evian occur naturally, and that Chinese health inspection criteria are different than those of the World Health Organization. [Full Text]
