Photos from a Village In China

Weblog200412626 ESWN had new series of photographs on his EastSouthWestNorth blog. According to him, these photos have been all over Chinese BBS forums. “It is difficult to figure out what the original story was. As far as I can tell, this is a photographic record made by a religious NGO group which visited a remote village in which they had made donations to enable children to attend schools. ”

There are not many “breaking stories” about the problem of rural education in China. I hope these photos will provide a visual reminder of such a daunting challenge.
