A law unto himself – Peter Goff

From the South China Morning Post, via Asia Media:

It didn’t take long for Wang Xiaofeng to realise that he was not cut out for the courts. Now one of China’s best-known bloggers, when he was fresh out of law school he only lasted a week in the Beijing prosecutor’s office.

“If I had stayed, I’d be rich now like all my friends from that time — fat and rich. But there should be a law in China that fat people like this are all automatically executed. They are all corrupt,” he said, half-joking, as he sucked on a cigarette in a Beijing cafe.

It was a typically caustic comment from the man who is better known as Dai San Ge Biao (Wears Three Watches), a Web nickname that mocks former president Jiang Zemin and his convoluted “Theory of the Three Represents,” or “San Ge Dai Biao” in Chinese.
