Hu Jintao‘s “8 Honors & 8 Disgraces” lanched in March has been big in Chinese press. A contest named “National 8 Honors & 8 Disgraces Evening Paper Hundred Awards” started in April 15 and closed on Sept.15. More than 70 evening papers entered the contest with about 15,000 photos. The following are the winners:

“Water spashed on bikers” (Golden Award) This June, Fuzhou city had plenty of rain storms. Some speeding drivers race over the water, which was splashed onto bikers. (From Fuzhou Evening NewspaperÁ¶èÂ∑ûÊôöÊä•)

The 35-year old wife donated her kidney to save her uremic husband in Zhejiang. Seven days after the kidney transplant operation, their daughter eventually saw mom and dad both well. She droped tears of happiness. (Silver Award, from Qianjiang Evening Newspaper钱江晚报)

Sept. 5, a truck loaded with 10 tons of cabbage flipped on its way from Hebei to Liaoning. A couple of hours later, fire fighters and traffic police were salvaging the truck while locals were looting the cabbage. (Siver Award, from Liaoshen Evening Newspaper辽沈晚报)
