Wang Zhaoyao (王昭耀), former deputy secretary of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), went on trial on corruption charges on Wednesday.

Wang also took advantage of his position to promote his wife and his wife’s brothers to senior positions in local government departments.
