Navigating the Internet market in China has largely been a game of survival for Google and other big, American companies that trail Chinese rivals.

But ’s optimistic chief of operations in China says the search giant has matured past the survival stage and now has a new goal: Win. “Our survive and grow issues are already solved,” Lee Kai-Fu told reporters in Beijing recently.
