China’s Hu, Obama Discuss NKorea: State Media

From AFP:

Chinese President Hu Jintao held telephone talks with his US counterpart Barack Obama about North Korea’s nuclear programmes following its weapons test last month, state media said.

The two leaders spoke on Wednesday about bilateral relations and exchanged opinions on the current situation on the Korean peninsula, said the People’s Daily, the mouthpiece of the ruling Communist Party.

No details of the discussion were given, but the United States is pushing for tough UN sanctions on North Korea after Pyongyang tested an atom bomb on May 25, its second such test since 2006.
