Photo: Two Chongqing Cops in One Picture

Recently, Bo Xilai’s crackdown on high level corruption in his Chongqing municipality became the talk of the town in Chinese politics circles. Bo, former Minister of Commerce and governor of Liaoning, was appointed as the Party Secretary to Chongqing in 2007, to manage one of China’s largest cities with a population of 31 million as of 2005. He brought with him Wang Lijun (王立军), the former director of Public Security Bureau in Jinzhou, Liaoning to be the Director of the Chongqing Public Security Bureau. One year after Wang’s arrival to Chongqing, more than fifty high-ranking local officials have been imprisoned on corruption charges, including a host of top police officials and local billionaires, including (among others) Wen Qiang, director of Legal and Judiciary Department; Peng Changjian, deputy director of the Public Security Bureau; Huang Daiqiang, deputy director of Criminal Investigation; Chen Tao, deputy director of the public safety  (治安总队副总队长); Zhao Liming, director of economic crimes investigation; and Li Hanbing, director of police organized crime investigation team.

The following photo shows two top cops in the same picture: Peng Changjian (left) and Wang Lijun (R) before Wang’s crackdown led to Peng’s arrest. Photo from Huangtingzi’s blog on tianya.com:
