Hexie Farm (蟹农场): The King of Censorship

For his latest contribution to the Hexie Farm CDT series, cartoonist Crazy Crab looks at the recent crackdown on China’s more liberal media including Yanhuang Chunqiu and Southern Weekly, under the newly-minted administration of Xi Jinping.     The censors under Xi Jinping’s rule have blocked from publication Yanhuang Chunqiu, a media outfit whom Jinping’s late father Xi Zhongxun once praised in the latter’s calligraphy as having been “well run.” This borders on unfilial behavior on part of the head of state.
