The South China Morning Post reports on a directive allegedly being distributed to universities outlining seven topics professors are not permitted to discuss in class:
Wang Jiangsong, a philosophy professor at the China Institute of Industrial Relations in Beijing, said that on Tuesday he had seen the receipt of notice sent to his university’s leadership, instructing it to forbid lecturers from mentioning seven controversial issues in their classes.
The seven topics were freedom of the press, a civil society, civic rights, historical mistakes committed by the Communist Party, elite cronyism, and an independent judiciary.
“The purpose of this notice is just to tell you as a teacher to be a bit careful about what you’re saying,” he said. [Source]
