纳米比亚 (Nàmǐbǐyà): Namibia

Hu Haifeng

After a corruption scandal involving Hu Haifeng, son of former president Hu Jintao, Namibia became a sensitive word in China. Hu Haifeng is the former CEO of Nuctech, a company that was the subject of a 2009 bribery investigation by the Namibian government. The investigation probed Nuctech's lucrative government contracts.

As of October 3, 2013, a Baidu search for Namibia yields a number of results. However, searches for “Namibia Hu Haifeng” (纳米比亚胡海峰) or “Hu Haifeng” (胡海峰) either leads to a blank page or notes that some results “did not display on the basis of relevant laws and policies”. The forbidden query causes Sogou even more serious indigestion, shutting down access to the site for several minutes. A Google search produces over 20,000 results.
