墙奸 (qiángjiān): wall-rape

This satirical Chinese character combines the characters for rape and wall.

This word sounds the same as the Mandarin pronunciation of the word “rape” (强奸 qiángjiān). However, the characters are different: the first character, 强 (qiáng, meaning “by force”) is replaced by the character 墙 (qiáng, meaning “wall”). Thus, the new term means that one has been screwed by the Great Firewall of China. A humorous take on this is highlighted by this fictional error message found here:
