This encourages them to be responsible for themselves as well as for society. It is the only way to eradicate those who are hiding in a dark corner in disguise while they are brewing rumors and \u201cfiring illegal guns.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A post on The Next Web <a href=\"http:\/\/thenextweb.com\/asia\/2011\/10\/19\/chinese-government-looks-to-introduce-real-name-policy-for-microblogs\/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+TheNextWeb+(The+Next+Web+All+Stories)&utm_content=Google+Reader\"><strong>questions the feasibility of enforcing a &#8220;real name&#8221; policy on the 400 million plus registered weibo bloggers<\/strong><\/a>. \u00a0The post also contrasts Beijing&#8217;s desire for control with the objectives of microblog pioneers, Twitter:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The rumours in China are far removed from the position of the original microblogging platform, Twitter, which was described as \u201cthe free speech wing of the free speech party\u201d by its CEO Dick Costolo at yesterday\u2019s Web 2.0 summit.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">This Beijing Daily editorial was released in the midst of much talk regarding how to limit the flow of &#8220;rumors&#8221; on the internet. \u00a0See recent CDT coverage of the <a
