\nJune 4th marks the anniversary of the Chinese government’s repression of the Tiananmen Square demonstrators in 1989. Hong Kong held a candlelight vigil, where a black wreath was displayed to commemorate the bloodshed. One dissident placed an ad in a local newspaper early this morning, while online references to the massacre<\/a> circulate.\n<\/p>\n \nFrom Reuters:\n<\/p>\n \n The advertisement, in the lower right corner of page 14 of the Chengdu Evening News, read: “Paying tribute to the strong mothers of June 4 victims”, two local residents who saw it told Reuters.<\/p>\n Police are investigating how the advertisement got into the newspaper, one local resident who requested anonymity said.
