Unlike the \u201cAre you happy?\u201d CCTV debacle<\/a> <\/strong>of last fall, a survey on happiness released last week is unequivocal about China’s contentment. On May 16, People\u2019s Daily published \u201cThe People\u2019s Happy Chinese Dream: Index of the Development of Family Happiness,\u201d a survey of 9604 adults and 2372 children jointly conducted by the China Population Welfare Foundation<\/a><\/strong>, the Renmin University School of Sociology and Population Studies<\/a><\/strong>, and the Tsinghua University Research Center for Public Health<\/a><\/strong> [zh]. The survey found that 36.3% of participating families are \u201cextremely happy,\u201d 47.5% \u201crelatively happy,\u201d 14.7% \u201cneutral,\u201d 1.1% \u201crelatively unhappy,\u201d and 0.4% \u201cextremely unhappy.\u201d<\/p>\n
