If 3G took mobile phones to the threshold of images and video, 4G will bring them into an era of the superhighway where downloading full-length films will require only seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The research project \u201cNext-Generation Broadband Wireless Mobile Communications Network\u201d, which will stretch over 15 years, has already received the government\u2019s backing. <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wen_Jiabao\">Premier Wen Jiabao <\/a> approved December 2007 the project in principle, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Category:Ministry_of_Finance_of_the_Republic_of_China\">Ministry of Finance (MOF) <\/a>will allocate at least 20 billion yuan for R&#038;D, with the total
