I found them! I found the forebears of the foreign forces!\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Catch-all scapegoat for any thought or action that does not conform with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) doctrine. The central government has blamed \u201cforeign forces,\u201d sometimes called \u201cforeign hostile forces,\u201d for orchestrating the <a class=\"external text\" href=\"http:\/\/www.scmp.com\/news\/hong-kong\/article\/1519713\/june-4-1989-events-china-still-have-profound-effect-hong-kongs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">1989 protests<\/a>, stoking the <a class=\"external text\" href=\"http:\/\/chinadigitaltimes.net\/2014\/10\/hk-activists-ex-pats-say-foreign-forces-behind-protests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Hong Kong protests of 2014<\/a>, and causing <a class=\"external text\" href=\"http:\/\/chinadigitaltimes.net\/2014\/06\/chinese-academy-of-social-sciences-infiltrated-by-foreign-forces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cideological problems\u201d at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Netizens have co-opted \u201cforeign forces\u201d to satirize the Chinese state\u2019s relationship with foreign countries. And when homegrown movements arise, like the Southern Weekly protests of 2013, Internet users will remark on<a class=\"external text\" href=\"http:\/\/chinadigitaltimes.net\/chinese\/2013\/01\/%E3%80%90%E7%BD%91%E7%BB%9C%E6%B0%91%E8%AE%AE%E3%80%91%E5%A2%83%E5%A4%96%E5%8A%BF%E5%8A%9B%E6%9C%89%E7%82%B9%E5%BF%99\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">how \u201cbusy\u201d the foreign forces must be<\/a> [Chinese].<\/p>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u8521\u54e504: The APEC summit makes one thing clear: the higher-ups use the so-called \u201cforeign hostile forces\u201d as special-order enemies to push <a title=\"Shitizen\" href=\"http:\/\/chinadigitaltimes.net\/space\/Shitizen\">shitizens<\/a> around, but then see them as\u00a0<a title=\"Godfather\" href=\"http:\/\/chinadigitaltimes.net\/space\/Godfather\">sugar daddies<\/a> <a title=\"Naked official\" href=\"http:\/\/chinadigitaltimes.net\/space\/Naked_official\">[for themselves]<\/a>.
