(May 26, 2015) [<a href=\"http:\/\/chinadigitaltimes.net\/chinese\/2015\/05\/%E3%80%90%E7%9C%9F%E7%90%86%E9%83%A8%E3%80%91%E8%A5%BF%E5%AE%89%E6%8B%86%E8%BF%81%E6%88%B7%E5%BD%93%E8%A1%97%E7%A0%8D%E6%AD%BB%E6%8B%86%E8%BF%81%E8%B4%9F%E8%B4%A3%E4%BA%BA\/\"><strong>Chinese<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Xi\u2019an newspaper Hua Shang Bao reports that a middle-aged <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/chinadigitaltimes.net\/chinese\/2015\/05\/%E3%80%90%E7%BD%91%E7%BB%9C%E6%B0%91%E8%AE%AE%E3%80%91%E4%BD%A0%E8%AE%A9%E6%88%91%E6%B2%A1%E6%88%BF%E4%BD%8F-%E6%88%91%E8%AE%A9%E4%BD%A0%E6%88%BF%E6%B2%A1%E4%BA%BA%E4%BD%8F\/\">man hacked to death the man in charge of the demolition company which knocked down his\u00a0home<\/a><\/strong>. The paper describes in graphic detail the scene of the crime:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>According to shopkeepers in the vicinity, the incident occurred around 9 a.m. next to the sign for the Shengchan Road bus stop on Ziqiang East Road in Xi\u2019an. One eyewitness stated that, according to locals, the murderer was forced to relocate from his home and is over 40 years old. The murderer professed that he had revenge to carry out. As soon as the victim stepped off the bus, he was blocked by the murderer, who stabbed the victim several times before taking a hatchet to his head.<\/p>\n<p>Eyewitnesses said a nearby shop[keeper] and a passerby exhorted the murderer not to do that wrong thing, but the murderer said he had been blocked by this man for six years, and had been looking for him all this time. When the murder was complete, the man did not leave the scene, but wiped the blood off his hands with newspaper, then told onlookers that he lived near Shengchan Road, and that he had been searching for the man he had stabbed for years because of problems with the demolition and relocation of his home.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;] After the incident, the murderer went on to tell onlookers that he did not have a cell phone, and asked them to call the police. He did not run. The police arrived quickly and put him in handcuffs, but he then told them he would go with them willingly, and handcuffs were not necessary. A red purse filled to the brim lay next to the victim. An eyewitness said the bag belonged to the murderer and held a hatchet and dagger. [<a href=\"http:\/\/chinadigitaltimes.net\/chinese\/2015\/05\/%E3%80%90%E7%BD%91%E7%BB%9C%E6%B0%91%E8%AE%AE%E3%80%91%E4%BD%A0%E8%AE%A9%E6%88%91%E6%B2%A1%E6%88%BF%E4%BD%8F-%E6%88%91%E8%AE%A9%E4%BD%A0%E6%88%BF%E6%B2%A1%E4%BA%BA%E4%BD%8F\/\"><strong>Chinese<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On Weibo, netizens have responded largely with sympathy to the perpetrator, painting him as a victim of society who either rightfully took his revenge, or else was driven to madness:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Litongmingltm<\/em> (@\u674e\u901a\u660eltm): However great the oppression, so to the revolt.<\/p>\n<p><em>Hanxuewomeihua <\/em>(@\u5bd2\u96ea\u5367\u6885\u82b1): Injustice has its head, debt has its owner. If you are unharmed, you are innocent!<\/p>\n<p><em>Fenfatuqiangdeheibao<\/em> (@\u594b\u53d1\u56fe\u5f3a\u7684\u9ed1\u8c79): Actually, it sounds like the man from the demolition company had some amount of power, but he was also just doing the legwork.
