On June 1, the WeChat account \u529f\u4e0d\u5510\u6350\u7684\u5b64\u5c9b (\u201cIsland of Efforts Paying Off\u201d) posted a folk song titled <\/span>\u201cDon\u2019t Drink the Celebratory Toast.\u201d<\/strong><\/a> The video for the song features lyrics, in white subtitles against a black background, urging listeners not to forget the <\/span>depredations<\/span><\/a> of Shanghai <\/span>under lockdown<\/span><\/a>, nor succumb to the government\u2019s <\/span>triumphalist narrative<\/span><\/a>. The song, which also references the viral catchphrase <\/span>\u201cWe are the last generation,<\/span><\/a>\u201d was immediately censored and deleted.<\/span><\/p>\n
