\nFrom a New York Times editorial<\/a>:\n<\/p>\n \nZhao Yan<\/a>, a researcher for the Beijing bureau of The New York Times who has been imprisoned in China for more than a year, was named journalist of the year on Wednesday by the international press freedom advocacy group Reporters Without Borders.<\/a><\/p>\n Mr. Zhao, 43, was arrested in Shanghai on Sept. 17, 2004, and accused of leaking state secrets<\/a> to The Times. He is being held in Beijing and has not yet had a court hearing.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
