Caixin reports <\/strong><\/a>on the downfall of Li Xiangdong, head of China Mobile\u2019s mobile music service, who was recently arrested <\/a>for alleged corruption after disappearing and fleeing the country reportedly with a huge amount of money:<\/p>\n \nA Sichuan office source said the disappearance was announced to Li’s former colleagues in late March, and that Li’s wife, Yao Hong, was present. On March 29, the company formally announced that Li had been replaced by Chen Jianji, president of the office’s Mobile Construction Center.<\/p>\n A China Mobile internal report last year claimed Li had been manipulating service providers for personal gain. Government auditors followed up with a visit to the Sichuan branch in February, and later by meeting with Li.<\/p>\n It appears Li was not satisfied with his high-profile status as a key figure in developing the mobile music business in China.
