Tianning Temple’s enormous gold-spire-topped pagoda (reconstructed in 2007, and reportedly the tallest in the world), rises high into the sky, dwarfing the temple’s one- and two-story buildings, with their bright yellow walls, dark brown wooden beams, and tiled rooftops.
