最美逆行者，这一说法最早来自“[[天津爆炸事故|2015年天津港危化品仓库爆炸事故]]“，官方将消防员称为“逆行者”，赞扬他们付出的牺牲。但反对者却认为无论是大爆炸的发生还是消防员抢险的大量伤亡（消防员死亡63人）都属于典型的“人祸”，“最美称谓”实则推卸了责任。而近年来由于习近平的活跃表现，不少网友选择了将“最美逆行者”的称号原封不动地赠予了习近平本人，以及中共当局，因此“最美逆行者”开始出现同一名词两种解读。

2020年9月大陆抗疫电视剧也采用了这一名称：

但该剧在播出后受到大量网民差评，播出不到几天就在豆瓣上得到了大量的一星差评，评分一度稳定在2.4分（满分10分），网友的负评不断或许激怒了审查部门，最终《最美逆行者》的网友点评全部被删除，评分版块也被撤下。
