The Chinese Communist Party’s answer to the iPad. Introduced in January 2012, the Red Pad was designed for Party cadres, cost approximately twice as much as the iPad, and included applications to keep the user up-to-date with the latest Party directives. After netizens vigorously mocked of the device, advertisements and media reports were pulled.
