中華人民共和國—美利堅合眾國關係，常稱中美關係（英語：China–United States relations），是指中华人民共和国与美利堅合眾国之间的双边关系，兩国关系历经敌对、接触、交往、合作、猜忌、对抗等几个阶段，今日更分居世界第一大（美國）及第二大（中國）經濟體，是當代世界最重要和复杂的双边关系之一。 第二次国共内战后期，中国共产党在基本取得胜利后于1949年建立中华人民共和国，由中國國民黨執政的中華民國則因戰事失利退守台灣；當時正值全球冷戰體制形成，中華人民共和國隨即成為蘇聯主導的東方陣營成員，與美國主導的西方陣營對立。随着朝鲜战争爆发，美国参战并宣布台灣海峽中立化，雙方更在朝鲜战场上兵戎相见。朝鲜战争后，美国政府一直坚持对中华人民共和国采取“遏制”政策，並在軍事及經濟上支持中華民國；而中華民國獲得大多數西方陣營國家支持，得以持續透過聯合國擁有中國代表權。(维基百科中美关系)
