After a corruption scandal involving Hu Haifeng, son of former president Hu Jintao, Namibia became a sensitive word in China. Hu Haifeng is the former CEO of Nutech, a company that was the subject of a 2009 bribery investigation by the Namibian government. The investigation probed how Nutech received lucrative government contracts.
As of October 3, 2013, a Baidu search for Namibia yields a number of results. However, searches for “Namibia Hu Haifeng” (纳米比亚胡海峰) or "Hu Haifeng" (胡海峰) cause the Baidu search page to completely vanish and to produce an entirely white screen. The forbidden query causes Sogou even more serious indigestion, shutting down access to the site for several minutes. A Google search produces over 20,000 results.
