After a corruption scandal involving Hu Haifeng, son of former president Hu Jintao, Namibia became a sensitive word in China. Hu Haifeng is the former CEO of Nutech, a company that was the subject of a 2009 bribery investigation by the Namibian government. The investigation probed how Nutech received lucrative government contracts.
As of October 3, 2013, a Baidu search for Namibia yields a number of results. However, searches for “Namibia Hu Haifeng” (纳米比亚胡海峰) or "Hu Haifeng" (胡海峰) cause the Baidu search page to completely vanish and to produce an entirely white screen.
